Agenda

Data Science Congress 2018

Hands-on Workshop – Day 1

Deep Learning by Nvidia DLI

Type: Premium | Duration: Full Day | Certificate: Yes

The Aegis School of Data Science and NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) offers hands-on training in artificial intelligence (AI) and accelerated computing to solve real-world problems. Start a self-paced online course at your convenience or take the course in an instructor-led workshop. No matter how you learn best, DLI gives you access to a fully configured, GPU-accelerated workstation in the cloud, complete with software tools, neural networks, and datasets. All you need is a web browser and Internet connection to get started.

Natural Language Understanding

Type: Premium | Duration: Full Day | Certificate: Yes

Natural Language Processing (NLP) addresses the problems of automated understanding and generation of natural human languages. The former identifies the syntactic structure of a sentence, judges the semantic relations among the syntactic constituents, in hopes of reaching at an eventual understanding of the sentence. The latter process constructs the semantic structures and syntactic constituents according to the semantic and syntactic properties of the lexical items selected, and eventually generates grammatically well-formed sentences. The goal of the NLP applications is to facilitate human-machine communication using natural languages. In particular, it is to establish various computer application software systems to process natural language, such as machine translation, computer-assisted teaching, information retrieval, automatic text categorization, automatic summarization, speech recognition and synthesis, information extraction from the text, intelligent search on the Internet. Today, with the wide use of the Internet, the demand for language information puts a high premium on automated processing of massive language information.

Apache Spark

Type: Premium | Duration: Full Day | Certificate: Yes

It establishes the fundamentals of using Spark for data exploration, analysis, and building big data applications. This one day workshop is hands-on, covering topics such as: interactively working with Spark’s core APIs, learning the key concepts of big data, deploying applications on common Hadoop distributions, and unifying data pipelines with SQL, Streaming, and Machine Learning.

Machine Learning Using R Language

Type: Premium | Duration: Full Day | Certificate: Yes

Machine learning is a branch of computer science that studies the design of algorithms that can learn. Typical machine learning tasks are concept learning, function learning or “predictive modelling”, clustering and finding predictive patterns. These tasks are learned through available data that were observed through experiences or instructions, for example. Machine learning hopes that including the experience into its tasks will eventually improve the learning. The ultimate goal is to improve the learning in such a way that it becomes automatic so that humans like ourselves don’t need to interfere anymore. This small tutorial is meant to introduce you to the basics of machine learning in R: more specifically, it will show you how to use R to work with the well-known machine learning algorithm called “KNN” or k-nearest neighbours.

Social Media Analytics – Using IBM Watson

Type: Standard| Duration: Half Day | Certificate: Yes

Social media not only provides marketers with a means of communicating with their customers, but also a way to better understand their customers. Viewing consumers’ social media activity as the “voice of the consumer,” this session exposes learners to the analytic methods that can be used to convert social media data to marketing insights. In Introduction to Social Media Analytics, learners will be exposed to both the benefits and limitations of relying on social media data compared to traditional methods of marketing research. Partnering with a leading social media listening platform, this course provides learners with the foundational skills of social media listening including the creation of monitors and common social media metrics. Moving beyond social media listening, this course shows learners how social media data can be used to provide insights into market structure and consumers’ perceptions of the brand. Learners will have the opportunity to assess data and discern how to “listen” to the data by watching video lectures and completing activities, practice quizzes, discussion boards, and peer assessments.

Machine Learning Models Deployment as a Webservice

Type: Premium | Duration: Full Day | Certificate: Yes

Creating a web service to deploy machine learning model. Machine learning is a branch of computer science that studies the design of algorithms that can learn. Typical machine learning tasks are concept learning, function learning or “predictive modelling”, clustering and finding predictive patterns. These tasks are learned through available data that were observed through experiences or instructions, This small tutorial is meant to introduce you to the basics of machine learning in R: more specifically, it will show you how to use R to work with the well-known machine learning algorithm called “KNN” or k-nearest neighbours.
