An Approach To Smart Agriculture Practice using Internet of Things(IoT), Big Data and Neural Network

The agriculture sector in India employs 48.9% of the workforce and the contribution from this and its allied sectors to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is 17.4% in FY 2015-16. Over the past few decades, the statistics reflects a sharp decline in the contribution of agricultural share in GDP and its employment.The increasing demographic pressure and the consequent diversion of the land for non-agricultural uses will further worsens this situation. Precision agriculture practices are discussed to overcome this scenario where technology has to be intervened along with the traditional approaches with the goal of optimizing returns on inputs while preserving resources.We are presenting an approach, which will help the farmers to practice Precision Agriculture by incorporating the tools of Internet of Things (IoT ).This system also comprises of large data storage capabilities which can be achieved through Big Data techniques and improved decision making through Backpropagation Learning network.
